There is a way to blog that will drive volumes of traffic to your website. Blogging is very effective in attracting large amounts of traffic. If you really want to drive huge volumes of traffic to your blog, you will need to do more than just blogging. There is a special series of steps to take to make your traffic explode with qualified prospects.

Be sure to fill your blog with keywords and phrases that match your website search results.

Establish your blog with quality content. Be sure to update your blog regularly and promote it everywhere you can. The consistent updates will improve your blog's search engine ranking. Your improved search engine ranking will affect your main website which has back links connects to it.

Optimize your titles for maximum exposure.

Whether you are writing blogs or articles, you need to make sure that your titles are sound marketing headlines. Don't take it for granted that people will read your work because it's terrific. They still need to have a great headline that grabs their attention.

Build a list and drive traffic to your blog.

Your blog will not gain traction if you simply rely on the search engine to deliver traffic. Cross market your blog and your website. Link to your blog from your website and notify people of your updates. Build a big list of qualified subscribers and keep them informed.

Social networking is a powerful way to drive traffic to your blog.

Use Facebook, MySpace or other social network to promote your blog. Sometimes sending people to your blog instead of your website is a great way to work a two-step approach when marketing to a social networking website. You aren't allowed to sell or promote your products from most of these sites but you can offer free information. The blog is an excellent way to bring people into your site from forums and networking sites.

Add social bookmarking to your blog and articles on your website.

There are numerous bookmarking applications that will allow you to share your articles and blogs. Subscribe to a few such as del.icio.us, Blue Dot, Digg, reddit, Ma.gnolia and others are a great way to get your articles noticed. Be sure to register your blog with Technorati as well. Set up an RSS feed.

RSS feed is another way you can use to keep people coming back to your blog because after people subscribe to read your RSS feed, they will get updates continuously. This means that you will be bringing readers back to your blog every time you make a new blog post.

Re-purpose your blog information.

I sometimes produce my blog entries first and after editorial review, I'll expand on the concepts in the blog and spin a few articles from the post. Many times I'll take the best articles and use them in my audio podcast series. Re-purposing your work is an excellent way to get more mileage out of your materials.
